ExoTech USA is a family-owned company founded in 2025 and proudly based in Katy, Texas. We specialize in representing engineered products, services, and solutions for the Chemical, Petrochemical, Refining, and Industrial/Commercial sectors throughout Texas and the Gulf Coast.
Our company was founded by Juan Bustamante, who brings over 14 years of hands-on experience supporting the industrial market along with 30+ years of sales experience. From his early career as a Flowback Operator and Well Controller in Texas during drilling/completions. After proving himself on-site, he moved into smart pipeline inspections, working offshore and onshore projects conducting smart in-line pipeline inspections across over 38 states in the USA, Juan developed a deep understanding of upstream and midstream operations.
He later transitioned into the Southwest Regional Manager for a positive displacement pump manufacturer and eventually joined Spirax Sarco USA, where he focused on steam and condensate systems, developing a deep understanding of downstream operations achieving top national sales performance. Most recently, he served as Texas Director of Industrial Sales at Texas Steam & Instrumentation (an Armstrong International distributor), leading a team focused on CO₂ reduction, heat transfer optimization, and industrial steam applications.
Juan has worked closely with Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies for over a decade, and one of his key specialties — and something he’s most passionate about — is helping customers improve plant safety, increase product throughput, and solve operational pain points. He frequently performed site walk-downs and thermal assessments, identifying root causes of inefficiencies and building comprehensive reports to support MOC processes, training programs based on field findings, and lessons learned. His pass experience also included getting involved with steam leak audits, steam trap surveys, and reporting steam losses from failed traps and steam leaks, turning these insights into cost-saving projects. These ranged from applying piping best practices, reducing CO₂ emissions, eliminating field welds, and ensuring valve shutoff integrity before turnarounds (TARs). His root-cause analyses on cold or plugged steam traps helped plants safely manage replacements, with documented savings on steam losses ranging from $50K to $4 million.
Over the years, Juan has built strong, trusted relationships with major industrial players including Marathon, Valero, Ineos, LyondellBasell, DOW, OXY, Shell, Kuraray, Buckeye Partners, TPC Group, Chemours, Lubrizol, BASF, Celanese, TotalEnergies Petrochemical, Evonik, Chevron, ExxonMobil, and many others — providing technical support both at the plant and corporate levels, as well as working with EPCs and OEMs across the region.
